Dog Safety!

Today the Puriri team had a special visit from Diana the Dog Safety Officer and her dog Lincoln. We learnt about safe ways to approach dogs we don't know. We must remember to always ask the dog owner first before patting a dog and to always turn our hands into rocks before patting dogs on the chest.

If we get  knocked over by a dog we must turn our bodies into rocks by putting our hands into fists to cover our ears and noses to our knees! We must never run away from a dog as they think it's a bit of a game!

We looked at different pictures of dogs and talked about their different feelings! We learnt a lot today with Diana and Lincoln and we have posted a few pictures for you to see!

  1. Hi Room 4,

Room 9 really enjoyed our visit from Diana and Lincoln too. He is the most chilled out dog we've ever seen! We learnt lots just like you and all feel much more confident around dogs now.
